Who says you can’t make a profit and be environmentally friendly at the same time?
With a business that sells green products you can!

Fortune 500’s like Target sell green products so there is nothing stopping small businesses from offering green products too.

Customers that care about environmentally friendly products are a good match for small business for several reasons. Smaller business can focus on green customers better than big business can.

Small businesses can know their customers better and can help them put their beliefs into action in helping keep the environment sustainable.

Green Opportunity Knocks

According to experts, small businesses for the most part have not recognized what a lucrative opportunity that selling green can be.

According to one study concerning green “supplements, personal care and household products,” that segment of the industry is approaching one billion dollars per year in annual sales.

According the to experts, one thing that drives sales in green is the business owners’ passion for the green business. This passionate energy applies to all phases of the business and gives their customers another way to emotionally connect with the business.
One business owner who offers green textiles is proud to sell products that are not made from petroleum based products. She knows that her products do not harm the earth the way drilling for oil has.

Her green clothes line sales are booming so much her demand is greater than her supply.
Watch out Apple Iphone you might have a challenger!

Here are some tips for the green business owner:

Find what you are interested in and this will be your speciality or focus. In marketing that is a called a niche. Find your niche, get rich!

According to one successful entrepreneur, when you are able to do something well and that shows who are in an authentic way then your prospective customers will be attracted to that.  Your products do not have to be common items, they just have to be products that you believe in.

Be a Green Role Model

Being a role model is a great way to promote your business. If customers see that every part of your life is as green as it can be then that will be a very useful and legitimate promotion of you and your business.

Areas in the business on the supply side can be made green as possible by working with your vendors and suppliers. You can even try using solar panels or windmills for energy if that is possible.

Every little touch that adds green to your business will enhance your revenue.

Teach your customers what you know and they will love you for it. Customers crave connection and can get that when you impart your knowledge upon them.

Not only know your customer but know what you sell in and out because knowledge is power in sales. That way your customer will better come to know the value of your green products to them and in the big picture.

Green Today Happy Tomorrow

The green business industry is one that lends itself to good old fashion advertising known as word of mouth. Therefore entice, persuade or cajole your customers into bragging about your business to other people.

If they are happy, ask them to share the experience to others for the good of mankind and so your business will still be open tomorrow for you, your customer, and your customer’s referral.

Of course, in Life 101 or Business 101 we all need to attract good people. In this case, ones that want to be on our evangelical green team is the goal. Those are the ones to hire or partner with because you both share a common interest of saving the planet one green transaction after another!
