- Automate your heating with a programmable thermostat
- Energy Star appliances are known for efficiency
- Energy Star Christmas lights
- Turn the lights out when you leave the room
- Keep your chimney clean and use the right type of wood
Reduce waste, Save Gas, Spend Less
- Make a list which saves time and gas
- For holiday parties turn the thermostat down
- Use cloth napkins, silverware, dishware and glassware
- Buy a Christmas tree that you can replant
- Avoid wrapping paper that is not recyclable
- Give gifts that do not require much packing
- Buy quality that last longer instead of what is cheap that wastes quickly
- Learn how to compost
- Digital cameras are the green choice over disposable.
