7 Days of Greenness

To start the year off right we can make a routine for being green.
Eco-friendliness is the new cool so lets get started.
The eco awareness trend is here to stay, the question is how to accomplish it day to day.
This post could be used as a seven day example of some green activities you can enjoy.
When we breakdown being green we like to begin in places that interest us the most.
After your seven days of green is underway, you can begin to find even more ways to be green! And Remember that every little eco activity helps create the sustainability that we all need.
Monday: No Paper Required
Producing paper consumes large amounts of energy, uses large volumes of water and creates noteworthy amounts of greenhouse gas.
So from now on, on Monday you will be saving wood, energy, and water; and, you will be polluting less into the air and into the ground.
That is as long as you can reduce the amount of paper you are using or buying (packaging)
Tuesday is Green Office Day
Being green is not so much about your job, but about how you do your job.
First, learn and implement sustainability programs.
Second, look around and green your physical environment.
It might be something as simple as not using disposable items like paper cups and plastic utensils while you are on break.
Use a mug or glass instead. Bring your own silverware from home.
Wednesday Is About Water

Learn water conservation at the above website, that will explain it much better than I can.
Thursdays are for Adventure
If you have never used public transportation, this is the day to do it.
Or if you can not do that, then do this: carpool, bus, train, cycling or telecommuting.
Friday is Energy Day
“75% of all electricity used to power electronics is consumed by products that are switched off.”
Here is good advice on conserving energy: http://www.taigacompany.com/filebin/StrategiesandTips_EnergyEfficiency.pdf
Saturday Manage Your Trash
This link can help you manage your trash: http://blog.taigacompany.com/blog/sustainability-business-life-environment/what-is-in-your-garbage
Remember this: reducing is the key to better waste management.
Sunday Do Your Green Clean Thing
Most old school cleaners are toxic.
“By replacing them with eco-friendly products, you’re providing improved indoor air quality, as well as reducing the 5 billion pounds of chemicals consumed by cleaning industry each year.”
Better to buy from green makers of green ec0-friendly cleaning products.
