The average consumer has options when it comes to recycling.
The curb, the store, the local recycling center, or they can call for a free e-waste pickup.
Here is a new option, that may have been around for a while, but might become more popular now that the amount of new e-waste being generated is reaching astronomical proportions.
And that option is…..MAKE FURNITURE FROM ELECTRONIC SCRAP!
Hiding Stuff Into Gaudiness
Do you think that blocks of e-waste are gaudy? Well, gaudy might be the new chic someday if some designers have their way.
For example, one featured piece is a small cocktail table stuffed with circuit boards in a hard clear resin.
The designer was Rodrigo Alsonso.
Inside is everything but the kitchen sink: “boards, wires, mice, computer components, and even entire keyboards. They’re all dumped into a large mold which is then filled with a clear epoxy resin to bind everything together.”
A Real Time Capsule
